Lipoprotein interconversions during passage through subcutaneous adipose tissue in humans in vivo.

چکیده
Adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is the enzyme responsible for hydrolysis of circulating lipoprotein triacylglycerol (TAG). Successive passages of very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) through adipose tissue are thought to produce progressive delipidation of the particles, with the eventual formation of intermediate-density lipoprotein (IDL) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) [ 1 I . The hydrolysis of TAG is accompanied by the movement of other components between lipoprotein fractions. For instance, with the shrinkage of the particles, surface components including cholesterol and, in the case of chylomicrons, apolipoprotein (apo)-A1 may move into high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles [ I ] . The evidence for the occurrence of these processes in vivo is still indirect. It is based mostly on the movement of labelled components between fractions, and on studies of lipoprotein lipase action in vitro. We have now studied the changes in lipoproteins during their passage through adipose tissue in vivo in humans, using a recently described technique for measurement of arteriovenous differences across these tissues [2].

The Association of Omentin Gene Expression in Visceral and Subcutaneous Adipose Tissues with Plasma Fatty Acids Profile and Dietary Fatty Acids
Introduction: Omentin, an adipokine, with anti-inflammatory effects reduces insulin resistance, and can hence, play an important role in prevention of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The present study aimed to investigate the association of plasma and dietary fatty acids with gene expression of omentin in visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissues. Materials and Methods: Visceral and subcut...
متن کاملThe Effect of Eight Weeks of High-Intensity Interval Training and Endurance On Blood Glucose and TORC1 Protein Content in Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue of Obese with Type 2 Diabetes Rats
Background: TORC1 protein is an important factor in regulating adipose tissue metabolism. Type 2 diabetes can lead to dysfunction and the development of obesity. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and endurance on blood glucose and TORC1 protein content in subcutaneous adipose tissue of obese with type ...
متن کاملMacronutrient metabolism of adipose tissue at rest and during exercise: a methodological viewpoint.
The metabolism of white adipose tissue is regulated by many factors, including hormones and substrates delivered in the blood, the activity of the autonomic nervous system and the rate of flow of blood through the tissue. An integrated view of adipose tissue metabolism can only be gained, therefore, from studies in vivo. Of the various techniques available for studying adipose tissue metabolism...
متن کاملHormonal control of regional fat distribution.
Hormones exert powerful influences on body fat distribution in humans. Studies under fully controlled conditions in vitro have indicated that cortisol and insulin facilitate lipid accumulation by expressing lipoprotein lipase (LPL). Growth hormone (GH) abolishes this and turns metabolism towards lipid mobilization. Testosterone and GH inhibit LPL and stimulate lipolysis markedly. Cortisol effec...
